Messages from Big Island, Hawaii, in Japanese and English
One of my favorite Japanese singer-songwriters, Miyuki Nakajima, has been inspiring me a lot, especially now.
By driving a car in a beautiful and wild nature under the blue sky, I listen to her pieces and feel empowered. Not only her music, but her lyrics and her unique voice hit my heart. My husband cares about good music. He gets attracted by the music with spirits. He rarely reacts to the Japanese songs I play, but he reacts to her music, even if he does not understand the Japanese lyrics. Her lyrics have beautiful and powerful poetic qualities, I think. I heard she has participated in the National Language Council of Japan. The music, “SORAFUNE (Spaceship)”, was written and composed by her. The singer group is TOKIO. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9TL7VyS5NY When I was listening to the lyrics, my soul was shaken deeply. Below is some part of them. (my interpretation) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Row the boat, row with your own hands Don't leave your oars to those who will be rejoiced to see you disappear. Where is the ship floating now? Where is the ship going tattered now? Even if all the sailors run away in fear Row the boat, row the boat with your own hands Does the ship forget herself being a SPACESHIP? Did she forget the time to take off and fly? “Row the boat, row with your own hands Don't leave your oars to those who will be rejoiced to see you drop out Comments are closed.
