Messages from Big Island, Hawaii, in Japanese and English
When I go to see the Mauna Kea, I get out from the car, and stand in front of the mountain.
I look at the mountain top, and pray to the Lord, Hawaiian gods, and gods of the mountain. I feel so serene and calm. When I go to swim in the ocean, I pray before entering the water. I pray to the Lord and gods of the ocean. People might have seen that I am praying. People whom I do not know, talk to me with smile, and sometimes offer me some help even if I did not ask. I have been so overwhelmed and moved by their Aloha. Many Americans are religious and have faith in their religions. I have seen a young lady praying to God before swimming into the ocean at the beach. I have seen my friend praying to God in the car when her husband was driving. I have seen a woman praying to God in the airplane. It is one of the most beautiful scenes. Comments are closed.
